My name is Jojo and I am a sheltie and corgi mix.  I am a happy dog and almost always have a smile on my face.  I love being around people and would prefer to be wherever my human family are hanging out. I don’t currently live with children but have in the past and do well with children who understand that I am a puppy and like to bark and chase as part of playing. I did well with my foster mother’s 7 year old niece and nephew on a family vacation.

 I am protective of my territory and will bark at strangers that come to the house but once I am introduced to them I am friendly.  

Since I am a mix of herding breeds I will try to herd and chase the cats so may do better in a household without cats or where cats have had exposure to dogs. I am fine with other dogs (although I would prefer to be the alpha dog in the household) and like to play chase and wrestle with my foster brother (a beagle mix). I have been to the dog park several times and have done well each time.

I am housetrained and have been able to stay home un-kenneled with no accidents for 9 hours. Dogs are allowed on the furniture in my foster home and it appears I am used to this so if you want me to stay off I will need training on this although I will usually get off the furniture if my foster mom gives me the “off” command. I would prefer to sleep on the bed near you and will whine if I am kenneled at night but will settle down after a while. I am now allowed to sleep on the bed by my foster brother will sleep through the night.

I am very smart and know my name but either was not taught other commands or learned them in another language or with non-traditional words. I now have a pretty reliable sit with both verbal and hand signals and my foster mom is working on down. I am very good about coming when I am called. I just need some training, patience, socialization and lots of love to get and give back!

JoJo's adoption fee includes:  rabies vaccination, DHPP vaccination, de-wormer, 4DX heartworm/tick disease test, neuter, flea and tick preventive, heartworm preventive, pre-paid micro-chip, and a full veterinary exam. Adoption fee: $295.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
