Tootsie came to us because her owners had to sell their home and move into an apartment that didn't allow dogs. Originally her owners gave her to their son, but he got busted for having more dogs than the city allowed so he needed to find her a good home. That is where we came in.

Tootsie is a purebred Brittany Spaniel that was born 8/1/2006. She is 8 but don't think that she is anywhere near the end of her life! She is as happy and healthy as a young dog! She is 30 pounds and is an absolute LOVE. She has been trained to point - she loves to point at the birds at the vet office. She is good on a leash and rides okay in the car. She will pant and pace a little bit but settles in and will lay down eventually. She is GREAT with other dogs and does well with cats. She was never introduced to cats until about 6 months ago and she will fixate on the cat but never chases or tries to get the cat in her foster home. Tootsie is actually wary of the cat approaching her - her fosters cat can get a little grumpy though. When she fixates on the cat her foster just shuts the door to the room and Tootsie forgets all about her.Tootsie is currently in a foster home with a 90 pound Rhodesian ridgeback and a 50 pound Brittany spaniel - both males. She has been around MANY different dogs, female and male and LOVES all of them. She has never had an accident in the house and is allowed to roam free at all times - even when her fosters are at work for 10 hours a day! Tootsie is picky about her treats but loves milk bones and hot dogs. She is lower energy than most dogs - especially for a typical Brittany Spaniel. She would do well in any home - kids, elderly, dogs, cats. She is not destructive and her goal in life is to cuddle with her people! She could live in an apartment or a home - she could be happy anywhere, but she does love her fenced in yard!

Tootsie is practically perfect except for one thing, she has a very weird gait - she walks funny. The vet thinks she has a neurological dysfunction (we think that she may have had an accident while out hunting with her former owner). The vet doesn't think that it effects the quality of her life and she is so happy-go-lucky that nobody could think of her as anything but amazing. If you would like to adopt a dog but don't want to deal with naughty behaviors or training - Tootsie is your girl!!!

Tootsie's adoption fee includes: Rabies vaccination, DHPP vaccination, Bordetella vaccination, 4DX (Heartworm/tick disease test), heartworm prevenetative, flea/tick preventative,de-wormer and full veterinary exam and spay. Adoption fee: $165.00
