Zion needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
My favorite thing about Piper is she does NOT bark. She is the quietest dog I have ever known. The only time she ever barks is when a stranger comes to the door. The rest of the time she’s so quiet you hardly know she’s around.Piper is housebroken. When she wants to go potty, she doesn’t bark or scratch at the door like most dogs. She just quietly waits by the door for you to notice her. Because she’s so quiet, you may not notice her waiting to go out. I’ve started training her to ring a bell on the door when she needs to go out but she doesn’t have the hang of it yet. She has very short fur and does not have a thick coat. This means she doesn’t shed much but also means she needs a sweater when she’s outside in the winter. She likes to be brushed and doesn’t mind having her nails trimmed. She is quiet and content to be outside with her foster siblings or on her own when it’s warm out. But now that it’s winter she prefers to stay in the house with her humans other than go potty or go for walks. She walks very nicely on a leash and doesn’t pull. When it’s really cold out, she’s content to skip the walk and stay inside playing with her toys instead. Piper is crate trained. She goes right in when you tell her to and doesn’t bark or whine to get out. Please give her enough toys to keep herself entertained when in a crate for an extended time. She likes chew toys and stuffed animals. She is a good eater, but when we first got her as a foster she was emaciated. She is somewhat food protective around other dogs but she is fine if a human takes her food away. This may be because before she came to rescue she did not know where her next meal was coming from. So I separate her from other dogs when eating and this works real well. I don’t have to keep the dogs separated when giving treats. She’s figured out that each dog gets the same number of treats. As long as she gets her fair share, she’s OK. Piper is a very sweet girl and gets along with most dogs but does not like yappy little dogs. If you have a little dog this may be a concern. She prefers big dogs or little dogs that are quiet like she is. She does OK with my cat but he has lived with dogs his entire life and knows how to behave around them. I would not trust her with a kitten or an adult cat that has never lived with dogs. Piper is going to be a wonderful fur baby. She is mellow and very loving. And truly deserves a loving home.Zion's adoption fee includes: rabies vaccination, DHPP vaccination, de-wormer, 4DX heartworm/tick disease test, spay, flea and tick preventive, heartworm preventive, pre-paid micro-chip, and a full veterinary exam.
