Willow came to us from a surrender in North Dakota. Since her path took her almost directly to our home from her former life, she's kind of a mystery. Most likely her age is between 18-24 months old. She was pregnant when she came to us and had a large litter of 12 puppies. She likely had been an outside dog and was not house trained. Willow is very intelligent and learned to only go potty outside within 3-4 days. There were some accidents around the time of her puppies being born but with some retraining, remains solid in her house training. Willow is also great with other dogs, cats, horses, kids and strangers. She had been around a lot of visitors since her puppies were born and has enjoyed all the extra attention.

Willow is a dream to walk on a leash. She is quickly learning to heel and doesn't pull or try to run off. We've even walked her from the back of a horse and she walked along side like she was born doing it! She has a lot of energy and needs a lot of exercise. She has learned that she can easily jump a four foot fence around the back yard and then likes to run. She does not come back to her name or commands. Spaying may decrease some of these behaviors. Willow would probably be excellent at agility training or even rescue work because of her intelligence, ability to focus and enjoyment of the outdoors.

Because of her age, Willow tends to have high energy at times and is still occasionally destructive. She will chew small toys and even furniture if she doesn't get enough exercise. She will quickly drop or leave an item if she's told to leave it and is easily redirected to other toys. She is a very sweet and loving dog who likes to sit next to her people and be part of the family. We do leave Willlow loose in the house while we're out and she does very well except for her extreme love of people food. She will counter serf and eat an entire loaf of bread if given the chance.

Our family has really enjoyed having Willow as a foster dog. She is so sweet and kind that I think in the right situation, she will absolutely shine. Our only real concern has been the escaping and difficulty getting caught since we live close to a busy county road. And since she is so young and energetic, a tie-out isn't a great solution for her either.
