Are you looking for an older, calm dog that is house trained? Or a companion who loves to go on walks? How about a companion to play ball with? Or is it a companion who just wants to be by your side, cuddle with you or watch TV or read a book with you? Then Bella would be perfect for you, and even tho she is an older girl, and tied to a set of wheels, don't discount this darling girl. She doesn't act her age, nor does she let her handicap hold her back.
Bella is an 8 year old Cockapoo who lived in a loving home where she was pampered and adored. She broke her back several years ago - most likely playing ball (which she loves to do, in or out of her wheels) by falling into a gopher hole while she was running, I am assuming. Her owner, who has a job that leaves him traveling very often, has loved & cared for his precious Bella for her entire life including 3 years of life in a set of wheels. When he realized that with all his traveling and being alone, he could no longer give her what she deserved in life and with a very heavy and broken heart, he reached out to NDLB Rescue to please help him find her a quality home where she will once again be as loved and pampered as she was with him. When he surrendered this darling, just before he had to get on the plane to leave - he was not dry - eyed, he proved that he really loved this little girl by letting her go. Which is the test of an owner's love. He wanted what is best for her and so do we. I am her foster mom and I think she sparkles with life. Bella is a adorable little doll who barks like a seal. She has the energy and the playfulness of a puppy still but unlike a puppy she has manners and doesn't need to run or play 24/7. She takes off the like the wind when she is in her wheels. Nothing stops this little girl. Bella wants to be with you and will follow you around the house whether she is in her wheels or not. She doesn't want tons of attention, she is happy just to be by your side. She has an adorable set of pink wheels. She also has a harness to put her legs in and allow her to go walking or running while you hold her rear end up.
She knows what her crate is for and will go in there often just to rest. She will gladly sleep in her crate if that is what you want. Just say "it is bedtime" and she ambles on in. She will use her cute little seal bark to let you know she has to use the outside bathroom. She can also hold it when she has to.
