Lucky 's background: he came into our lives when he showed up on our porch in the Spring of 2013. He had no ID, was limping and bleeding from his leg. We brought him into the vet the same evening & it turned out he had been shot & ran into all within in the previous 24 hours.  All attempts to locate his owners turned up empty handed and he became a part of our family. After many months of nursing him back to health he's been a wonderful addition to our family every since!
For the past year he has spent most of his time outside with free roam. We have a couple acres with an invisible fence around the entire property & dog door into heated garage. For his first 6 months with us he was mostly inside-- cast on front leg & needing to be supervised more.
When he first joined our family we had a: male black lab & female black lab/greyhound mix. He did great with the other male, but has "fought" for dominance with the female since day one. But other then not deciding who's in charge he has done very well.
My daughter was only 2 months old when he showed up & he's been the best with her since day one! They are best buds to this day. Ever since the accidental bite he's been in the house with my daughter & I most of the day and my toddler chases him around all day. Pulling his tail, trying to mount him, etc-- he does great with her!
He still shows signs of "puppy"- very playful & easily excited. But I truly believe he means no harm to anyone.
Before the biting incident he spent 90% of his day outside doing whatever he wished: laying in the shade, playing ball, playing with us, watching neighbors walk by, playing with our other dog, etc. And then 10% inside chasing the toddler around. Unfortunately he wasn't inside as much as I'd like, because a toddler & a large dog bouncing off the walls got to be a bit much.
No specific food- I most commonly buy Ol'Roy Complete Nutrition
Yes, I can bring some of his food with
Yes, he does seem to be kennel trained. We've never put him in the kennel before this week, but he knew what it was & went right in.
Typically sleeps on a dog bed in the heated garage. But for the past week he's been on the couch or in bed with me. So he really can go either way-- prefers to be a "pampered pooch" though-- prefers to be inside with his humans.
He loves to run, chase tennis balls, chew up dog toys (or anything for that matter). I've never brought him on a walk-- we like to train them to stay in the yard. But he has had free range of 2.5 acres, so he can pick up some good speed running
Favorite toy: tennis ball-- could fetch a ball all day long
He doesn't like water-- swimming, baths, kiddie pools-- he runs in the other direction
