Bear  is a 3-year-old German Shepard mix. He came from a family that moved into an apartment. They tried to live with him in a small space.  Bear  was accustomed to life in a house and did not adapt well to apartment life.  Bear 's family sacrificed their relationship with him in the hopes that he would find a new family with a house and a lot of love.
Bear  is a love addict. He can't get enough. He will sit with you as long as you are willing to pet, scratch and massage his soft, furry body.  Bear  will sit in your lap and lay next to you if you permit it. When you have had enough loving he will curl up and take a nap. He enjoys napping outside in the shade or on a cool floor.
Bear  also loves children. He lives with two boys (ages 4 and 5) and a puppy in his foster home. He is easier for the boys to walk than the puppy is despite his large size.  Bear  permits the puppy to use his tail as a chew toy and jump on him; the only thing he will not permit is the puppy to steal his bone.  Bear  also gets along fine with cats...he avoids them, he's a smart guy! So far,  Bear  gets along fine with all of the dogs he has met on walks.
Bear  like bones, is not crazy about soft toys and does not like sticks; he shys away from them. He does not chew up objects left on the floor and thus far has not eaten human food left out where he can take it. He will jump up to greet you when you get home and may put his paws on the counter to see what's cookin' for dinner. He did not choose to swim when taken to the river.
Bear does not like having his picture taken, they do his sweet face no justice.  Don't pass him by he is a good looking boy when you meet him.
