Hi my name is Alexia and I am a 4yo beautiful yellow lab. I have had puppies for most of my life and I am learning how to be a pet dog now. Most things are new to me and I need a family that is patient and kind. Though I am super sweet, I am scared of a lot of things and growl at the objects. At my foster mom's house I am currently growling at the TV and the fireplace since I am scared, but I am never aggressive. It has taken me weeks to come out of the bathroom on my own, and when I hear a noise I head back. I am good at going potty outside in a fenced area. I do not like leashes, but will walk for short distances. I am starting to like to play with toys, but submissive to other dogs. Bones I will resource guard so I don't get any now. I have been good with other dogs and the cat. I am super interested in the chinchilla, but he doesn't come out to play with me. I am on special diet to lose weight, but I love treats- especially chicken! I also have tried to eat trash so try to keep that away from me. I travel fine in cars, once you get me in. I have done fine for baths, but do not jump so need a walk in bath. I am still learning how to enjoy the cold. I also have a hard time going through door ways if other dogs are not showing me that it is safe. I love company - furry or humans. It takes awhile for me to feel safe, give me a chance please. I will stay in a kennel quietly if you push me in at night, but would rather stay in an open area without any shut doors as I grow anxious.
