Riley is a 13 year old yorkie-mix dog.  He came into rescue needing surgery for an ACL tear on his left hind leg.  He has come through the surgery remarkably well.  He still favors that leg but each day it’s getting stronger.  Rylee has numerous other medical needs but only two require life-long meds to treat a non-fully functioning liver and epilepsy. He does need to be picked up carefully not to put pressure on his stomach area.  Rylee is an older dog but you’d never know it because he’s playful, loves running around in the yard, gets along with house dogs, doesn’t bite, loves to be petted and wants to be by your side. 

Rylee loves the outdoors and will stay out in the coldest of weather.  He’s very reluctant to come back in and does a sideway high-stepping dance while he decides if it’s safe to come in.  It’s actually adorable.  He’s very cautious and leery of new things, people and dogs. Once he thinks everything is okay, he stops barking and is fine. He loves going for walks but he is a runner and should be held securely.  He also barks when outside so he’s not well suited for an apartment or areas where that may be a problem. We’re working on the barking but it’s like when he hits the outdoors he has to announce, “See me, I’m here.” He is potty trained with only a few accidents in the house when he first arrived. He sleeps in our bed at night. When he gets tired or when you can’t find him, check out the bedroom. He’s probably put himself to bed.  Rylee is a wonderful dog who needs a special person who will give him a safe haven so that he feels love and safe.  He’ll return that love and devotion tenfold. 

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: Donation of your chose 

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
