Parker needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
We call him "big boy" or "moose" he doesn't seem to mind. He was obviously someones pet because this boy is smart. He knows "sit, no, back up, car, walk, treat, outside, drop it, fetch" probably many others we haven't tried. He goes everywhere with me because he LOVES to ride in the car and sing with the radio :). He hasn't met a person or animal he hasn't loved. He usually gives a quick sniff of indifference and then is on to his next adventure. We have taken him to the dog park and he seems to be a bit of a loner. He runs with the pack for a little while and then goes off to sniff on his own. Many, many hunting dog owners have admired him at the park and thought he may be trained for hunting by the looks of his behavior. He is 110 pounds and a gentle giant. He allows our 4 month puppy to sit on his head and our 5 year old daughter to rough house with him. He shows very good bite inhibition so he would make a great family dog! The first night we had him he was guarding his food, toys and raw hides but since then he gives them up easily and shares everything with the other dog. He was very anxious then, probably because he was bounced around a lot, but now that he has settled in here he is a very mellow dog. He is crate trained, respects baby gates and has never had a potty accident in the house. In fact he was definitely an indoor dog in his past life because he wants to be with his people and will wait at the door bark when he wants to come into the house. He was introduced to our cat as well and was more interested in what treats were left for him in her litter box than the cat itself so a family with cats would be fine as well. :) This dog is family ready with no issues that we have encountered!
